'Zelpha,' is the first full-length album by independent music artist ‘ghostplay'. Recorded in 2017, 2019, and 2022 by Patrick Hills of Earthtone Studios in Sacramento, CA, and Mixed and Produced in 2023 by Monte Vallier of Ruminator Audio in San Francisco, CA. Mastered in 2024 by Josh Bonati of Bonati Mastering NYC, in Brooklyn, NY.

'Zelpha' is a collection of songs written in the years before, during, and after the world-altering pandemic. The songs are vulnerable stories of fear, disappointments, losing loved ones, lyrics heard in dreams, addiction, kindness, and the struggle to remain hopeful in a world that constantly tests your emotional well-being.

“A fleeting moment in gray skies, but remarkable to be a part of all." This lyric from their song ‘Sandcastle’ captures an aspect of the album's theme, that life is a compilation of fleeting moments. When reflected upon, we realize how remarkable and temporary our existence is.

Formed in 2012, ‘ghostplay’ is a unique three-piece group that blends the sound of ambient electronic rock and surf noir. They are comprised of husband and wife duo Jason and Leticia Hess, backed by drummers Armando Gonzales (USA) and Kimberly Kuvaja (Finland). Upon releasing this new album, the group has plans to tour the United States, plus Northern and Eastern Europe.
